About Me

Hi, I'm Dianna Jazwinski, a professional garden and plant photographer based in West Sussex, UK.
My career began in physiotherapy—and, in a small way, it still continues. Working in Occupational Health taught me that understanding and solving problems lies in observing the finest details: patterns of pain, subtle behaviours, and the relationship between movement and daily tasks.
When I became a photographer, I brought that same attention to detail into the extraordinary world of plants. Here, the smallest details reveal a beauty that is both immense and awe-inspiring.
Since then, I have worked extensively in editorial photography, contributing to leading horticultural publications including Gardens Illustrated, The English Garden, and Country Living. My work is represented worldwide through the stock agency Gap Photos.
Eight years ago, I felt compelled to create something more personal. I found inspiration in vintage botanical prints, particularly their dramatic dark backgrounds and meticulous depictions of roots, seeds, and other often-overlooked details. I was also drawn to the work of Pierre-Joseph Redouté, whose botanical paintings combined elegant simplicity with remarkable precision. His plants seemed to possess a gentle, sinuous grace while retaining perfect detail.
After years of experimentation, I developed a style that celebrates the beauty of botanicals through close observation of texture, colour, and form. My aim is to invite viewers to pause and look more closely at flowers they might otherwise pass by.
Working primarily with locally grown flowers, I explore how different floral textures interact and merge, creating their own subtle abstractions. Using low light, I seek to enhance the mood and emotion of the creative process, while drawing attention to intricate details that fascinate the eye. I am particularly interested in revealing the gestures and character of plants, uncovering the connections we share with the natural world.
At the heart of my work is a sense of optimism—light within darkness. Whatever challenges exist beyond our doors, flowers continue to grow and flourish. To me, they embody resilience, constancy, and hope. While not everyone has access to a garden, we can bring the garden indoors. I hope my work offers a moment of rest, brings colour into your space, and encourages reflection on the things that remain good, enduring, and beautiful.
Creating exceptional-quality imagery is central to everything I do. Every print is carefully tested to ensure the highest standards of sharpness, detail, and colour before it reaches this shop.
My artwork is currently represented by Will's Art Warehouse and Thyme Contemporary.
